Each Thursday of the month will have a different focus and you are invited to come to all the different weeks' activities or choose what interests you.
First Thursday of the Month -- Book Club. We will meet to share favorite books, discuss books that we are reading, make recommendations for the library and whatever else the members want to do. Second Thursday of the month -- Book Making. We will explore different methods for making books from the very simple folded and cut to the more complicated sewn books. Third Thursday of the month -- Book Writing. This will be a spot where we spend a little time writing with various prompts, share our writings with one another and HOPEFULLY gather writing/art/ of the CBMS students into a literary magazine. This might be an online magazine OR it might be paper. We can decide.... The fourth Thursday of the month is Book Art. We will look at different book illustrators and use their work to inspire us in creating art for use in our books. We will be working with watercolor, pastels, collage, stamping, papermaking, and much more! As always the library is open for suggestions. See the information on the Library Media Website and please BLOG your thoughts about any of this. Interested in Being a Library Helper for 2011-12?
